1. Context and objectives 🎯
In 2017, as part of Quebec's Digital Cultural Plan and the 2017-2018 Educational Program supported by the Place des Arts Foundation , the idea for an educational and humorous web series to promote performing arts professions was born . Place des Arts commissioned Hit Film 🎬 to produce an engaging and accessible series primarily aimed at teenagers and young adults , while also appealing to a wider audience.

Key objectives:
To showcase the "invisible" professions in the performing arts (stage manager, props master, lighting technician, etc.).
Attracting the attention of young audiences through a playful tone, familiar faces and multi-platform distribution.
Reaffirming the educational and cultural mission of Place des Arts in the digital world.
2. Concept and creative direction 🎬
Title : If I had a tech
Number of episodes : 10 humorous vignettes
Average episode length : ± 2 minutes
Synopsis 📺
The series follows Malik (played by Mehdi Bousaidan ), a young YouTuber overflowing with imagination, who revisits mundane moments from his daily life — failing a presentation, an awkward date, a party gone wrong — and imagines how everything would have been better … if he had had a professional technician by his side (like in a real show). Each episode thus introduces a new stage profession with humor, energy and creativity.
