Know Your Limits — Consent in 360°

Case study: Project "Do you know the limit?"


  • +1,400 participants reached as early as December 2016 , surpassing the initial target of 1,000, with a projection of 2,000 for March 2017.

  • 25 committed partners including 20 schools, 4 community settings and 1 festival, in Quebec and Ontario.

  • Strong national media coverage including Radio-Canada, CTV, CBC, La Presse+ and Le Journal de Montréal.

Project objective:

Create an interactive virtual reality (VR) tool to effectively raise awareness among young people about the concept of sexual consent. The goal was to offer an immersive approach allowing young people to experience and feel real-life situations in order to reinforce the educational impact of the message.

Why Hit Film?

Hit Film was chosen thanks to its recognized expertise in interactive video and virtual reality. Its ability to offer an innovative and personalized approach, tailored to the specific needs of the project, played a decisive role in this collaboration.


Approach and implementation:

The project used 360° video technology, offering complete immersion and allowing young people to experience realistic situations related to consent. The interactive format made the content more engaging and accessible, actively encouraging participants to reflect and personally participate in the experience.


Results obtained:

  • Initial objective: to reach 1,000 participants and establish partnerships with 3 schools and 3 community settings from August 2016 to March 2017.

  • Actual results: more than 1,400 participants as of December 2016, with a projection of 2,000 participants for March 2017.

  • Partnerships established: 20 schools (from secondary to university), 4 community settings and 1 community festival across Quebec.

  • Strong media interest: coverage in several major media outlets such as Radio-Canada, CTV, CBC, La Presse+, Le Journal de Montréal, and many others.

  • Increased interest from educational institutions, including outside Quebec (Ontario).


Impact and qualitative feedback:

  • The young participants highlighted the effectiveness of the experience in terms of raising awareness, fostering empathy, and providing a real understanding of the issues related to consent.

  • The partners (schools, CEGEPs) particularly appreciated the educational relevance of the approach, emphasizing that the immersive experience made it possible to reach an audience that is difficult to reach otherwise, especially young men.
